Reference to The Civil Procedure Law

According to Article 73 of The Arbitration Law, international arbitration rules may be developed by the China Chamber of International Commerce in accordance with the applicable provisions of The Arbitration Law and The Civil Procedure Law. Therefore, The Civil Procedure Law, its interpretations, and other laws and rules of civil procedures are important references in the practice of international arbitration. In most cases, arbitration rules only contain basic principles in respect of evidence rather than detailed rules. Sometimes, non-binding evidence rules are available for application at the choice of disputing parties.

Therefore, the following basic principles of The Civil Procedure Law pertaining to evidence are introduced for reference.
